Serious Question

30 05 2010

The next few days, when people ask me where I’m from, what do I tell them? I don’t live in NY. I don’t live in KW yet.

Quandries abound!

Trinity Sunday

30 05 2010

Jesus asked his disciples, Who do people say that I am? And his disciples answered and said, “Some say you are John the Baptist returned from the dead; others say Elias, or other of the old prophets.” And Jesus answered and said, “But who do you say that I am?”

Peter answered and said, “You are the Logos, existing in the Father as His rationality and then, by an act of His will, being generated, in
consideration of the various functions by which God is related to his creation, but only on the fact that Scripture speaks of a Father, and a Son, and a Holy Spirit, each member of the Trinity being coequal with every other member, and each acting inseparably with and interpenetrating every other
member, with only an economic subordination within God, but causing no division which would make the substance no longer simple.”

And Jesus answering, said, “What?”

Thank you, thank you, I’m here all week 🙂

The Blessed and Holy Jeep Saint Jeronica

29 05 2010

Jeronica, an honest-to-God real ‘Merican Jeep Cherokee was fearfully and wonderfully made along with her bretheren and sisteren in Detroit, MI. She served many friends and family during her life and eventually wound up in Hoboken, NJ where she continued a year of faithful service under the care of Sista girl. She is very faithful, never breaking down, and always efficiently using the resources she was given. It is said that her only vice is a taste for Premium Petrol, though such rumours are unconfirmed. She has a preference for road trips, but doesn’t care for long commutes, saying that life is too short to spend more than a few minutes going back and forth to work everyday. She has an infectious love of travel, saying it broadens the mind, heart and spirit. She is quoted as saying “Always keep a full tank of gas, your fluids changed regularly and your AAA membership up to date. You never know when the open road may call you to parts unknown.” Indeed, it was such a sense of joie de vivre that led Sista girl to lend Jeronica to her brother, the Reverend boy to guide and watch over him as he begins his sojourn in Key West.

Her feast day is May 30.

O God, who guides the travellers on their way and brings the wanderers home, we give thanks for the ministry and service of the Blessed and Holy Jeep Saint Jeronica. Grant that we may be like her, fleet of foot and sleek of style. May she ever guide us on our path and bring us to the safety of our destination for work, for leisure and ultimately to our place of respite. Through Jesus Christ Your Son our Lord who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, One God, for ever and ever, world without end. Amen.

Quote of the Day

28 05 2010

“His mind is already in Key West, I’m just sending the rest of him along so they can catch up. He’ll be ok, I mean, the Jeep is now a saint, right?”

—Sista girl to our Mother this week.

The First of Many Dinners This Week

25 05 2010

Last night I had dinner with my friend Craig. Craig also happens to be my very first boyfriend. We first met at a social gathering for LGBT youth on Long Island 15 years ago. Neither of us were really out and were still wrestling with what it meant to be gay. Through each other, we also discovered what it meant to be in love with someone.

Craig and I dated for about three years, and we stopped seeing each other we worked very very hard to maintain our friendship … which wasn’t easy. But we’re both glad we did and I’m sure I speak for both of us when I say that we wouldn’t have it any other way.

This is a picture of us at my FAVOURITE Turkish Restaurant, called “Turkish Cuisine.”  It’s a little mom and pop restaurant that serves THE BEST Turkish Food.  YUM – YUM – YUM!!!

LGBT Staffers on Capitol Hill

24 05 2010

This is pretty interesting … from Politico of all places.  Emphasis Mine.

Gay Staff Association Relaunches

The Gay and Lesbian Staff Association spent its early years trying to protect the identity of its members, acting as a support group for closeted congressional staffers.

But now the organization is taking a sharp turn, encouraging its members to be more public about their sexual identities and more vocal about promoting gay and transgender rights legislation. Now called the LGBT Congressional Staff Association, the group is relaunching, with the mission of making members of Congress and their staffs more aware of how integral — and integrated — gay staffers are in modern congressional culture.

There’s more …
